Cut ties with people who make you feel lonely

Lone_StreetCone

Reason I have no friends irl

lesbunner

Is it worth having friends if they drain you and/or make you sad

Lone_StreetCone

I don't believe so. I also believe that if I sont get rid of the wrong friends, then I cant meet the right ones.

Listen to songs or watch stand up comedy

Lilith_Lustful

I typically like to watch an emotional anime. And treat myself to some yummy comfort snacks.

Ask frinds to play online games.

I honestly can't say that I feel lonely. So, not qualified to answer here. I'd recommend embracing it and accepting life as it is, with aspirations to better yourself. If you live in America, I'd recommend you finding your local Master Naturalist chapter and to start volunteering if you have free time. It'll give you an opportunity to give back and will bring you into a community of people that are all nature focused. EDIT: Just to update, I spend plenty of time on my own. I don't feel lonely. I don't think about combating it, because I'm not afflicted by it. As I've gotten older, I realize how precious free time is. When I'm alone, I focus on self improvement. The more I've improved myself, the more capable I am of giving back to society? I dunno. Focusing on bettering myself and finding ways to involve myself in things I can support have helped me.

Thank you so much for your response. I am working on getting to that stage of not feeling lonely and learning to embrace and be grateful for the life I have, even if there are times I would love the company. I am starting to feel the difference in feeling alone when I am literally alone and hanging with people who make me feel alone. Thank you again.

Look outside the house (not going out) and try to see different things each day. Or just looking at random strangers and ‘create’ their lives in my head. It can be weird, or it can be funny. After all, it’s all in your head.

ClaudiaTheKitty

That’s it - how you interpret loneliness. Learning to understand that difference and creating a life and accept that it’s okay to be alone and you don’t actually need to feel lonely. Thank you for your reply too.
